The affordable, compact Lenovo IdeaPad S12 with a 12-inch display offers strong graphics performance and long battery life through an energy-efficient design.
Graphics performance is up to ten times better than other small computers. The system supports high-definition media and many PC games that cannot run on most low-cost notebooks. This is enabled by the Nvidia Ion platform, designed to provide high graphics performance for low-power CPUs.
“Nvidia Ion is one of the latest technologies for developing small and affordable notebooks, and we are among the first to use it,” says Stephen DiFranco, Vice President and General Manager, Consumer and Commercial Channels, Americas Group at Lenovo. “With its 12-inch display, large keyboard and extensive Ion-powered multimedia options, IdeaPad S12 offers all the features consumers seek today.”
“The Lenovo IdeaPad S12 with Nvidia Ion graphics represents a new beginning for the industry,” says Jeff Fisher, Senior Vice President of Nvidia’s GPU Business Unit. “It clearly shows what is possible with a small, Ion-optimised computer. The thin and affordable S12 offers everything expected of a PC, including the ability to use the notebook for video, games and photo editing.”
The Nvidia Ion graphics processor supports:
* All versions of Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7
* 1080p HD video and Blu-ray
* Popular games including Spore and Battlefield Heroes
* DirectX 10
* Video editing and transcoding with Nvidia CUDA technology
The Lenovo IdeaPad S12 with Nvidia Ion graphics will be available from summer 2009. Further information is available at http://www.lenovo.com.
