The six-core Opteron processors, codenamed Istanbul, reinforce AMD’s aim of providing server customers with outstanding performance and high platform flexibility at every price point. Server systems based on AMD’s six-core processor are expected shortly from leading suppliers including Cray, Dell, HP, IBM and Sun Microsystems.
