Munich, June 15, 2009—The animago AWARD category Best Young Production is intended exclusively for emerging professionals in animation and post-production. This year, the award carries €3,000 in prize money for the first time. Emerging artists can submit entries free at http://www.animago.com until July 31.
animago AWARD is not only a prize for professionals in animation and post-production but also includes emerging talent. In the past, emerging productions have ranked among winners and nominees in other categories. In 2008, for example, “Our Wonderful Nature” by Tomer Eshed of HFF Konrad Wolf received an award. This year, Eshed’s film was even nominated for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Student Academy Award.
Supporting young talent is particularly important to animago’s organisers. “Young talents need to attract attention. In future, animago wants to achieve this more than ever, because talents are introduced not only to the community but also to a wider audience and potential employers—if they are good enough,” emphasises animago Project Manager Matthias J. Lange. “Supporting young talent has always been part of animago’s concept. We have always ensured that productions with smaller budgets also have an opportunity.”
Creative professionals can register at http://www.animago.com for animago AWARD 2009. The deadline for every entry is July 31, 2009. Participation is open to everyone and free.

About animago AWARD and DIGITAL PRODUCTION:
Since 1997, animago AWARD has honoured the best productions in digital content creation. This impressive showcase documents what creative professionals can achieve with current technology. Films such as “Ratatouille,” virtual worlds such as “Second Life,” video games such as “World of Warcraft” and almost every commercial would be impossible without animation.
The competition is organised annually by DIGITAL PRODUCTION (www.digitalproduction.com), the leading German-language trade magazine for post-production and visualisation.
DIGITAL PRODUCTION is published by Reed Business Information GmbH (RBI, http://www.rbi.de), a subsidiary of leading global specialist publisher Reed Elsevier plc. Reed Business is Reed Elsevier’s international business-to-business division.
