By integrating CLIPSTER, DVS-SAN, and SpycerBox into its workflow, Galaxy achieves maximum flexibility. The CLIPSTER DI workstation plays an important role in the new workflow. Alongside recording and outputting film data, Galaxy uses the versatile DVS system for mastering, conforming, and quality control. Every stage of DCI mastering can be performed with CLIPSTER. Galaxy benefits from eliminating time-consuming transfer processes across multiple components. Galaxy’s editors can use CLIPSTER® to check the finished DCP’s quality directly.
A DVS-SAN central storage system enables Galaxy to access content in one central location and manage it securely. Multiple workstations can access large volumes of data simultaneously and rapidly. Galaxy’s sensitive data is protected by the RAID-6 technology used in DVS-SAN.
DVS’s SpycerBox serves Galaxy as nearline storage, giving different workstations direct access. Larger projects can also be stored there in parallel, providing Galaxy with the greatest possible flexibility. Galaxy additionally uses SpycerBox as a backup solution for film projects before they are archived to magnetic tape. Thanks to its numerous connectivity options, SpycerBox was also integrated rapidly into the existing IT infrastructure.
Innovative Spycer data-management software has proved the ideal solution for managing material from different projects at Galaxy. Spycer enables high-speed copying as well as searching and editing image data and its metadata.
Thanks to its highly professional infrastructure and expertise, Galaxy has established itself successfully in post-production. Galaxy played a major role in processing significant film projects including “The Hessen Affair” and “Spion van Oranje.”
