Harry Potter is back in virtual form too! The Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game is available from today. The Warner Bros. Pictures film, based on the sixth book in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, will open in cinemas shortly afterwards.

In the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game, players return to Hogwarts and help Harry survive his nerve-racking sixth year. They must take part in exciting wizarding duels, brew magical ingredients together in Potions class, and lead Gryffindor’s Quidditch team to victory on a broomstick. During this adventurous journey through the castle, players may even be distracted by Ron’s romantic confusion and entanglements while trying to decipher the Half-Blood Prince’s true identity.

“We are delighted that fans can use the Wii Remote as a wand,” commented Harvey Elliott, VP and GM Casual at the EA Play label. “It has never been so easy and realistic to master spells and curses such as Stupefy, Wingardium Leviosa, Accio, Petrificus Totalus, and many others. This is definitely the most authentic adaptation of the films and books we have ever created; fans will love this game!”

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was developed by EA Bright Light in Guildford, England, and is released today for Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP, Nintendo DS, PC, and mobile phones.
