Similar in design to the Apogee Duet, it offers first-class single-channel A/D conversion of a line, instrument, or microphone signal, with optional phantom power, via the included breakout cable. The Apogee ONE also features a built-in condenser microphone of outstanding quality, allowing recordings to be made without an external microphone. The Apogee ONE is therefore a mobile recording solution for creating podcasts or capturing song ideas, and at just 117mm x 57mm x 27mm it fits into any trouser pocket.

Playback is through a 3.5mm stereo jack that can be configured either as a headphone output or as a line output for connection to active speakers or amplifiers. The Apogee ONE therefore also performs excellently in an audiophile hi-fi environment.

Operation is extremely simple, with all important settings controlled through the substantial rotary control. It connects to an Apple computer through USB, which also supplies power, eliminating the need for a separate power supply. An Apple computer running Mac OS X 10.5.7 or later is required.

With the optionally available mount, the Apogee ONE can also be attached to a microphone stand for direct use as a vocal or instrument microphone. A practical storage case for safe transport is also available.
