With its new training concept, Audiocation specialises in the media sector and offers education and professional development in audio engineering and music production. In teaching the course content, the instructors use both traditional distance-learning elements and modern e-learning. The academy, registered with the ZFU, addresses both beginners and interested participants with sound prior knowledge.
The training programmes are based on the “listen-learn-create method” developed by Audiocation’s specialist instructors, allowing topics to be accessed flexibly and studied on the participant’s own schedule. The virtual lecture hall requires nothing more than a computer (Mac or PC), a fast internet connection (DSL), and good studio monitors. Audiocation offers two course models: the “Basic Home Recording Course” is aimed at all kinds of hobby musicians and home recordists who want to improve their own productions and leads to Audio Engineer Basic certification. The “Professional Home Recording Course,” whose successful participants earn the title Audio Engineer Professional, is suitable for ambitious hobby producers or media professionals seeking an additional qualification. All Audiocation course content is illustrated and presented through multimedia using videos, animations, audio examples, and practical assignments.
Audiocation works with professionals from the studio scene and the music business and draws on knowledge from real production practice. Company founder and academy director Helge Beckmann knows from many years of practical experience what he is talking about and which subjects are truly relevant. Regular instructors also include music producers Frank Zumbroich (Benny Martell (DSDS finalist), Corinna May (Grand Prix), Paddy Goes to Holyhead, Yoomiii (RTL2 Star Diary)) and Ulf Weidmann (Walt Disney, Christopher Cross, John Miles Jr., and many others). The course content is tailored specifically to the respective fields of knowledge and is created in close cooperation with other professional musicians, audio engineers, and producers. Renowned partners were also secured for the choice of recording studios, including Skyline Tonfabrik in Düsseldorf and Renaissance Studio in Cologne.
