In future, sampling expert Thomas Hansen Skarbye will work directly with the team behind the leading KONTAKT sampler to develop new software instruments with Scarbee’s characteristic authenticity and playability. Existing Scarbee products will be reissued and distributed by Native Instruments as standalone instruments.
Scarbee’s electric-piano and bass emulations have set a recognised standard for emulating these instruments and have consequently become established in many professional studio productions. The libraries combine highly sophisticated sampling with authentic, easy-to-use instrument articulations while relying on the sound-shaping and scripting capabilities of the KONTAKT platform.
Through the cooperation with Native Instruments, Thomas Skarbye will now be able to concentrate fully on developing further instruments that complement the existing Scarbee arsenal and extend it into new sonic areas. Close collaboration with the product designers and developers at Native Instruments will enable him to make optimal use of current and future KONTAKT capabilities.
From September, the existing Scarbee libraries will also gradually be reissued in “KONTAKT Powered” format, turning them into standalone instruments that can be used without the full version of KONTAKT. At the same time, the products will become part of the Native Instruments product portfolio and will be distributed as downloads through the NI website.
