The main causes are the collapse of the American market and the resulting insolvencies of several of the company’s important major customers, as well as the automotive industry’s current general reluctance in the marketing sector, which is Mackevision’s principal business. By the end of the year, the workforce, which most recently numbered more than 90 employees, will therefore have been reduced by more than 20 people. The measures affect the Stuttgart and Detroit locations. The Munich location is entirely unaffected because long-term contracts with customer BMW in partnership with Autodesk provide it with very good planning security. Managing Director Armin Pohl explains: “Despite the company’s stable position and initial positive signals from the US economy, we cannot yet rely on a permanently improving market situation and must preserve our room for maneuver.” Mackevision therefore plans to work with less personnel-intensive structures at the end of the fiscal year. “Internal restructuring is currently unavoidable if the company is to remain competitive worldwide,” Armin Pohl continues.
Against the backdrop of global competition, Mackevision has for several years increasingly relied on automation in implementing customer projects. By developing new technologies for high-end 3D visualizations, such as the F_BOX picture shooter, Mackevision aims to increase its savings potential. The first major corporations from southern Germany are already using the system solution from the F_BOX product family. This trend confirms Mackevision’s forward-looking strategic planning and demonstrates the great potential of the new business area.
For 15 years, the Stuttgart experts in 3D visualization, animation, post-production and visual effects have been regarded internationally as a guarantee of compelling images. Mackevision’s technology department bundles its many years of internationally award-winning experience in the form of customized solutions for project business and the development of powerful IT applications. “The demands on creative performance in the service sector have risen even further recently. We will therefore sharpen our profile further toward Passion & Technology,” emphasizes Managing Director Armin Pohl.
