The SKP 2000 plug-on transmitter is used wherever a wired microphone sometimes needs to be wireless. It is simply plugged into the microphone in place of the XLR microphone cable. SKP 2000 supplies 48 V phantom power and can be used with all condenser and dynamic microphones.
The ideal partner for ENG applications is the EK 2000 camera receiver. Adaptive Diversity, in which the receiver uses the camera cable as a second antenna, further optimizes reception reliability. The associated transmitter can also be configured through the receiver. Settings stored in the receiver, such as the transmitter’s frequency, name, low-cut and sensitivity, are then transferred quickly and straightforwardly to the transmitter via an infrared interface. Practical: settings for several transmitters can be saved in the camera receiver, allowing users in the field, for example, to switch quickly between a handheld microphone and a bodypack transmitter.
In addition to the plug-on transmitter, the diversity receiver can be combined with an SKM 2000 handheld transmitter or an SK 2000 bodypack transmitter with a lavalier or headset microphone. All capsules from the successful evolution wireless G3 series are available for the handheld transmitter, from the robust dynamic capsule to the true condenser capsule.
The bodypack transmitter can be combined with the classic MKE 2Gold lavalier microphone and the smallest model, MKE 1. Headset microphones such as HSP 2 and HSP 4 can also be used.
The 2000 series is characterized by high frequency flexibility and multi-channel capability, professional control, well-conceived menus and outstanding audio quality. Depending on the UHF range, the devices have up to 75 MHz switching bandwidth, over which up to 64 compatible frequency presets are available for microphone systems. Transmitter output power can be switched between 10, 30 and 50 mW. The US variant transmits at 100 mW. Reliable transmission is therefore possible even under difficult conditions.
The broad audio-frequency range (25 – 20,000 Hz for the bodypack transmitter (line), 80 – 20,000 Hz for handheld and plug-on transmitters) and audio sensitivity adjustable over a wide range leave little to be desired in terms of audio quality.
