Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH today announces the release of new eLicenser Control Center software. The new license-management software is an essential component of the eLicenser license-management and copy-protection technology. eLCC offers an optimized user interface and new functions for greater clarity and more efficient operation. eLCC replaces the Syncrosoft License Control Center and is the first license-management software for the eLicenser platform released by Steinberg since it acquired the Syncrosoft technologies in October 2008.

“This update is an important part of our relaunch of the former Syncrosoft technologies for the eLicenser platform,” explains Lars-Oliver Meding, OEM Sales Manager at Steinberg. “eLCC offers new features that make license management simpler and faster than with the previous version. The new ease of use is based on feedback from end customers as well as collaboration with our business partners, who will use the new technology in their software products,” Meding continues.

The new functions include workflow improvements such as entering activation codes without having to start a wizard, transferring licenses between different eLicensers by drag and drop, and a new “My Licenses” view. eLCC also offers improved help functions, context-sensitive actions and support for six languages.

Users of earlier versions of the Syncrosoft License Control Center can download eLCC free of charge and use it with their Steinberg products or products from other manufacturers that use Syncrosoft technology. “Although eLCC was developed completely from scratch, the software is fully backward-compatible, so all users of older LKC versions can benefit from the new features and workflow improvements,” adds Bernd Peeters, head of the eLicenser technology team. “From 2010, all new Steinberg products will be equipped with the eLCC software. We are confident that other software manufacturers will also begin implementing eLCC shortly,” Peters continues.
