With devices such as the R-1 and the original R-09, EDIROL made field recording accessible to a broad mass of users for the first time. With the new, free v2.0 software, the company is now offering an extensive update for the award-winning R-09HR. During development, the wishes of many users for additional features were taken into account and integrated into the software.

With its high-quality recordings, ease of use and excellent portability, the R-09HR took the market by storm. The new v2.0 software now further rounds out the device’s already extensive capabilities and opens up a wealth of new possibilities for users such as journalists, musicians and songwriters, who must be able to rely on a perfect recording anywhere and at any time.

One of the most important innovations is the now-integrated waveform editing, including the ability to split or combine recordings, making an external computer for editing the recordings unnecessary. The R-09HR therefore offers unprecedented flexibility by allowing users to perform professional edits anytime and anywhere.

Especially for musicians who want to record live performances, the R-09HR now also offers a chromatic tuner with two display modes, enabling optimal tuning before playing and subsequent recording. Also extremely useful for musicians is the newly added metronome function, thanks to which the R-09HR now also helps them stay in time. After recording, such a tempo-based file can then easily be integrated into a DAW for further mixing and editing.

The new update is completed by a self-timer function that makes it possible to start recording with the R-09HR at an exactly predetermined time – excellent for rehearsals, for example, or when the device is to be used to record a lecture.

The v2.0 software update for the EDIROL R-09HR is available to owners of the device as a free download at http://www.ediroleurope.com.
