Adobe has announced the winners of the 9th Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA). The award winners—including German participants—and their productions were presented at the 2009 Icograda World Design Congress in Beijing. AADA is a design and film competition for students and trainees intended to honour the world’s most promising animators, digital filmmakers, computer artists, illustrators, graphic designers and photographers. According to the organisers, this year saw more than 3,300 submissions from participants in 37 countries.
German participants were among the winners of prizes presented in a total of 12 categories. Jörg Block of TU Hamburg won in the “Illustration” category, while a team from TU Schwäbisch-Gmünd led by Marc Oßwald took first place in the “Mobile Design” category. The awards for “Animation,” “Live Action” and “Motion Graphics” went to England and the USA respectively.
The winning productions can be viewed on the ADAA website (see link below; the winners list was not yet online when the article was written). In addition to the obligatory trophy and certificate, every award winner received a flight to Beijing with accommodation and admission to Icograda, as well as US$3,000 and Adobe software.
