With Uplay, Ubisoft offers an online platform that represents the centre of a connected gaming universe for players. Uplay has four primary services: Uplay Win, Uplay Help, Uplay Share and Uplay Shop.
Uplay Win allows players to collect “Units” based on their actions in the game. These can be exchanged for rewards such as exclusive game content or goodies. In Assassin’s Creed II, for example, Uplay Win Units can be exchanged for an Altaïr costume for main character Ezio or the exclusive opportunity to visit the Auditore family crypt. Anyone who does not want to redeem their Units immediately can, of course, save them and use them later for other games, such as Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, due for release in February 2010.
Players will also be able to access Uplay Share, Uplay Shop and Uplay Help through http://www.uplay.com.
