How much HD does TV have? How many eyes does 3D need? And where exactly does Mr Wong live?
At the threshold of the digital age, there are as many questions as forecasts – and a new platform serving as an opinion forum for the digital media industry. The new filmtoolsConsult.de 2.0 project was initiated by the Munich consultancy of the same name, led by company founder Gert Zimmermann. The special feature: news and information are not merely communicated statically, but can also be commented on and assessed.
From now on, future technology trends will be presented and opened for discussion on the filmtoolsconsult.de 2.0 blog. It is not only experts’ opinions that are wanted; instead, all interested parties are invited to participate. “Our goal is to create a marketplace for the ‘digital media community’,” explains Gert Zimmermann. Suggestions from the market are ultimately intended to be carried specifically into the industry. “As organisers, moderators and participants at numerous industry events, we will bring open questions from blogs and chat sessions onto our panels and address them directly to the experts,” the initiator promises.
Topic suggestions for blogs can also be submitted. Particularly controversial topics could even be discussed on panels or at dedicated events. The launch of the new site also opens up new channels of communication: interesting industry events will be reported directly through Twitter and Facebook, in some cases live.
filmtoolsConsult.de 2.0 is aimed at creatives and purchasing decision-makers from every discipline of digital media production. Students are represented at filmtoolsConsult just as much as industry professionals.
The Munich company filmtoolsConsult, founded by Gert Zimmermann in 2001, specialises in advising international media groups. The company also participates actively in international specialist congresses and conceives and organises industry meeting points for innovative media technologies. As a co-organiser, filmtoolsConsult is responsible for the success of HD Forum, Mobile Forum and numerous events held as part of the Munich Film Festival. filmtoolsConsult has also established itself as a training ground for young talent in recent years. Alongside lectureships at national and international universities, the number of diploma theses supervised by filmtoolsConsult has also increased continually.
