After the first public beta version of Lightroom 3 was downloaded and tested by more than 350,000 photographers worldwide, Lightroom 3 Public Beta 2 already includes a number of improvements based on user feedback on the first beta. The new beta version also offers various new functions and improved overall application performance.
New functions in this version include integrated high-speed tethered shooting for selected Canon and Nikon camera models, importing and managing video from DSLRs for an optimised workflow, and further improvements “behind the scenes” – that is, to the software architecture – enabling faster importing and loading of images. The colour-noise reduction option has been expanded to include luminance-noise reduction. This allows photographers to achieve significantly better image quality in high-ISO photographs using the beta version. The import system and watermark function have also been adapted based on feedback from the Lightroom community on the first beta version.
Feedback from the worldwide photography community has again proved extremely valuable. Adobe thanks all participants in the first beta phase and invites them to test the selection of new functions now released and provide feedback to the product team so it can develop a high-quality final product.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 Beta 2 is available as a free download. The software is available for Macintosh and Windows systems and in 12 different languages.
