Adobe has released release-candidate versions of Lightroom 2.7, Photoshop Camera Raw 5.7 and DNG Converter 5.7. They are available for download immediately from Adobe Labs. The update expands raw-data support to include nine new camera models, including the Canon EOS 550D, Sony A450 and Olympus E-PL1. A complete list of the newly supported cameras can be found at the end of this report.
The term “Release Candidate” means that the updates have already been tested extensively but are also intended to benefit from feedback from the community. Adobe is calling on photographers to test the raw-data support newly added as part of this update and provide their feedback to the product team. The aim is to ensure that users working with a wide variety of hardware and software configurations receive a final product of the best possible quality.
Pricing and Availability
Lightroom 2.7 Release Candidate is available as a free download to Lightroom 2 users, and Photoshop Camera Raw 5.7 Release Candidate to users of Photoshop CS4. The release-candidate version of DNG Converter 5.7 is available to all users as a free download. Further information can be accessed at http://labs.adobe.com.
