The free update improves sound quality, performance and reliability, optimises numerous functions and fixes errors. Updates for Melodyne assistant and Melodyne essential RTAS are also being released at the same time as the update for Melodyne editor.
Optimisations beneath the surface of the new versions ensure lower RAM requirements and more reliable and smoother performance, while refinements to the user interface make work even more pleasant. There have been significant improvements especially when editing monophonic material. Thanks to their increased sound quality, Melodyne editor, Melodyne assistant and Melodyne essential RTAS in versions 1.1 offer by far the best-sounding vocal editing of all Melodyne editions and generations.
Andrew Scheps, engineer/mixer for Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Johnny Cash, among others, and a member of the Celemony beta team, said: “I have used the beta version of Melodyne editor extensively, and it worked very well and sounded excellent. For users of the now discontinued Melodyne plug-in, the import function in Melodyne editor has been improved and now produces more accurate results. When upgrading, the import function allows Melodyne plug-in projects to be transferred seamlessly into Melodyne editor. Users can thus benefit from the new DNA technology on the one hand and complete their existing projects with improved sound quality on the other.
The updates of Melodyne editor, Melodyne assistant and Melodyne essential RTAS to version 1.1 are available through the Celemony website. They are free for registered users of versions 1.0, and users will be informed about the update by email.
