For the first time, the European Animation Masterclass (EAM), one of the most successful initiatives of the International Academy of Media and Arts e.V., is presenting itself at FMX in Stuttgart. FMX is the European conference for animation, visual effects, games and interactive media and forms the central forum for European and international thought leaders and practitioners in the animation and games industry. FMX is taking place in Stuttgart for the 15th time, starting today.
With its presence at FMX, EAM aims to inform the industry about its EAMprofessional and EAMgraduate programmes, which will begin shortly. EAMprofessional is a continuing-education programme for industry professionals and emerging talent in the animation industry, in which no more than 20 participants are trained in four three-day modules covering core topics of animation production – from the idea and project management through to marketing. The first module begins on May 27, and the application deadline is May 10.
EAMgraduate is aimed at students and graduates of universities or colleges in the fields of animation, art, graphics and design, as well as related training programmes. The training for a maximum of 20 participants in Halle (Saale) extends over five months and begins in summer 2010.
The European Animation Masterclass is a continuing-education programme of the International Academy of Media and Arts e.V. and has taken place in Halle (Saale) for seven years. Animated short films created during previous EAM courses have enjoyed success at international film festivals. Most recently, two EAM graduates won awards at the Leipzig short-film festival “Kurzsüchtig”: Maria Kalcheva received the Filmverband Sachsen’s emerging-talent award for her EAM graduation film “Score”, while Falk Schuster – an EAM participant in 2008 – won for “Laufende Geschäfte”, his graduation film at the Halle University of Art and Design, Burg Giebichenstein.
