Nuke’s 3D compositing tools support stereoscopy and offer an efficient multi-channel scanline rendering engine. Version 6 adds a completely newly programmed rotoscope and paint toolset. According to dve, it works non-destructively and integrates Nuke’s animation and tracking features with support for object-oriented attributes such as motion blur.
In addition, The Foundry is adding its Keylight keyer to the standard feature set. Ocula is a collection of plug-ins that optimises the processing of stereoscopic material and solves common stereoscopy problems, dve explains. Nuke costs US$3,500 as a single licence in version 6.0; NukeX is being introduced at a price of US$6,000.
Under the company licence, ARRI uses Nuke and Ocula plug-ins. Both enable simplified post-processing of stereoscopic recordings.
