The free event takes place on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 8 p.m. in the Black Box at Munich’s Gasteig. For the 13th time, the programme features exciting showcases from the VFX and animation industry, some of which are being presented in Germany for the first time.
Speakers and topics this time include:
Making of “Animals United”
Reinhard Klooss & Holger Tappe (Constantin Film and Ambient Entertainment)
Award-winning producers and directors Reinhard Klooss and Holger Tappe of Constantin Film are this year’s keynote speakers. They will exclusively present excerpts from the S3D animated film “ANIMALS UNITED,” due for release in autumn 2010. The newly filmed masterpiece is based on a novella by Erich Kästner.
All images will be shown stereoscopically! Munich-based zweiB GmbH is supporting AnimationMeeting 2010 with a highly professional Xpand 3D projection system. The corresponding glasses will of course be available for viewing pleasure in the new dimension.
“VFX & Commercials”
Sebastian Weidner & Florian Decker (PICTORION das werk)
Alongside the film industry, advertising is also increasingly relying on visual effects. At AnimationMeeting, Sebastian Weidner and Florian Decker will speak about the use of VFX in advertising and, in particular, about the making-of of the commercial “Black Forrest still” that they produced.
“D:SF Goes Sport1”
Stephan Persdorf & Marcel Kuus (brandsome)
Stephan Persdorf and Marcel Kuus from newly founded design studio brandsome explain the creative processes on the way to the sports channel’s new design.
Making of “Moon Man”
Stephan Schesch (Schesch Filmkreation)
The former graduate of Munich’s HFF and proven animation expert will show his animatic for the animated film “Moon Man,” based on a work by Tomi Ungerer, at AnimationMeeting; he has already been able to use it to win backers for his production.
