Thanks to Fotolia’s powerful Adobe AIR application, users of stock imagery can search for and download photos, vectors and videos directly from their desktop for the first time. The application is compatible with Mac OS X and Windows and gives designers and image users fast and convenient access to the more than nine million images in Fotolia’s image database.
The Fotolia Desktop application can be downloaded free of charge at http://www.fotolia.de/desktop and is easy to install. It offers features that are not currently available in the browser, including:
• One-click image purchase and download
• Lightbox, gallery and shopping basket with drag-and-drop functionality
• Download images in large quantities
• Create an unlimited number of galleries
• Improved functions for basic and advanced searches
• Supports instant image purchase via credits and subscription
Months of work went into developing the Fotolia Desktop application, the first of its kind in the microstock industry. The company’s aim is to improve the user experience for existing customers and win new buyers and business partners. Fotolia has already worked with Microsoft and Adobe this year and has no plans to slow the pace.
