CityEngine generates city views in a wide variety of ways – from importing real maps from the OpenStreetMap project via various grids to creating an individual metropolis or small town.
Architects, urban planners, game designers and anyone who needs visualisations export this data. Buildings can either be designed individually or generated by the program using various parameters such as building size and age. Anyone working with CityEngine finds themselves in illustrious company ranging from Pixar and DreamWorks through Microsoft and IBM to Blizzard and Rockstar North.
There is now also a special “Indie” version costing just under 500 US dollars.
