A Welcome Guest

The ESMA School of Arts has two locations, in Montpellier and Toulouse. And its students’ work appears at festivals around the globe.
A cheerful animated character with exaggerated facial features, wide eyes, and an open mouth, expressing excitement. He has slicked-back hair, wears a light blue vest over a white shirt, and is gesturing with both hands in a lively manner against a clear blue sky.

Last year, no fewer than two animated films were among the nominees in the “Best Young Production” category. “Ex-E.T.” and “Mon Ami Charly” convinced the jury with their storytelling and technical execution. Both films can be seen on the ESMA website at http://productions.esma-montpellier.com.

The educational institution’s portfolio includes degree programmes in interior design, visual communication, photography and animation. With tuition fees of 4,000 euros per year, the education is not exactly cheap, but the large number of festival awards and nominations speaks for its high quality. The latest festival blockbuster is the animated film “Get Out” by ESMA graduate Charlotte Boisson. In addition to a nomination for this year’s Siggraph Computer Animation Festival, the film was shown at no fewer than 22 festivals and received numerous awards.
