In Babelsberg, the main focus is on TV-related fields of work, from ENG crews to sound mixing. But the company’s portfolio is broad and, alongside professional full-service broadcasting, includes high-end post-production: music videos, commercials or feature films – in SD, HD or 2K.
Current projects the company worked on in 2010 include the film Bedways, which screened as the closing film in the “Perspektive deutsches Kino” series at the Berlinale, and the new feature film with Franka Potente (“Valerie”), which was edited and post-produced at PostFactory. The particular challenge on this project was grading the mixture of footage from an AVCHD camera, 16 mm and 35 mm CinemaScope, as well as RED camera material. Also current this year: Defa – Spektrum commissioned PostFactory for its mediaglobe project. As part of this project, workflows are being developed to digitise the extensive archive holdings.
