The new functions include relighting, an interface for Maya Fluids, a Slim scripting module for those familiar with the command line, co-shader support and a revised interface.

In addition, the render layers, Slim shaders and networks have been renewed. What is particularly close to the current version of RenderMan can be summarised as follows: support for Maya has been expanded, and the interface and functions have been revised.
