Esri will integrate CityEngine into ArcGIS, which will thus be able to create 3D cities with CityEngine technology and compare them with existing GIS data.

According to ESRI Deutschland GmbH, however, CityEngine will continue to be developed, updated and available as a standalone product. The Procedural employees will be taken on directly, and in future "Esri Research and Development" will probably appear at the Swiss branches instead of "Prodedural".
