Students can compete in one of 13 categories, including game design and –development, application development and mobile design. For the second year in a row, outstanding teaching achievements are also recognized in three special categories for university teachers. Since the ADAA competition began in 2001, around 25,000 students from 73 countries have taken part. In 2011, the record number of 4,600 submissions was achieved.
