From January 2012, the Work in Animation taster course at the Berlin Games Academy will deal exclusively with digital-film content. The one-week program exclusively shows important content from the
Film Art & Animation training program, with the career goal of specialist in digital film design.
Selected modules provide an insight into the focus areas of character design, animation and visual effects. Terms such as story boarding, layout and posing are explained by industry professionals. Participants practice on 3D
models and draw 2D animations. Sabrina Wanie, director and co-producer at the Babelsberg studio Digitrick, initiated the taster course as head of the program: “The course offers an exciting opportunity to try out the world of animation. The emphasis is on “hands on”, because we want to give a practical insight into the various cinematic means of expression. A great opportunity for all participants to broaden their creative horizons and thereby create a new perspective in choosing a career as a specialist in digital film design.”
The course starts during the winter holidays on January 30 and takes place on weekdays from 09:00 – 16:30. The cost is 150,- EUR per participant. The Course Number is limited to 16 participants.
