There is not much to say to describe the game except that Mass Effect is undoubtedly one of the most successful video games of all time. The initially final instalment in the Mass Effect series once again completely won over every gamer’s heart until the game’s ending arrived. At that point, disappointed fans raged about its outcome. Logic errors and many unanswered questions were said to remain. The rumbling was so fierce that Bioware head Dr Ray Muzyka spoke out himself. He announced a revised version of the ending, which calmed tempers again.
On the Bioware blog he appeared concerned, but he also pointed out that the feedback had become increasingly unconstructive over time. Bioware’s eyes and ears are always open to constructive criticism, but verbal attacks against studio employees will not be tolerated.
It even went so far that one user filed a complaint with the US Federal Trade Commission. He accused Electronic Arts, the publisher, of having advertised the product incorrectly.
Executive producer Casey Hudson is meanwhile working hard with his team on a more detailed ending and intends to speak again in April.
Great joy became palpable again at the latest when Dr Ray Muzyka confirmed another successor.
