EditShare’s professional-grade editing program "Lightworks" has been available as an alpha release for Debian-based Linux systems since last week. Unfortunately, however, not for everyone: EditShare limits its use to those who had already registered as testers in 2011. Lightworks, the NLE used on "The King’s Speech" and "Pulp Fiction", among others, is therefore a pioneer on the question of platform and is available on Windows, MacOS and Linux—in theory, at least. After the announcement and publication were repeatedly delayed, at least an alpha version is now available, although there is still no date for a beta release.
