According to Cyber Radiance, Hair Farm is a complete hair solution with more than 40 different tools for hair modelling, animation and rendering. Since the plug-in can be fully integrated into 3ds Max, many 3ds Max features are also intended to be usable for hair objects.

Cyber Radiance has now released version 2.0 of its Hair Farm plug-in for creating hair in 3ds Max. Version 2.0 is said to have added a new render engine intended to enable better integration with third-party renderers and faster work. Maxwell Render and stereo rendering are now also said to be supported.

Support for V-Ray Hair Primitives and fast Hair Ambient Occlusion are also said to have been added. Version 2.0 is now intended to have a new, unified licensing system with unlimited Hair Farm render-node licences for as many computers as desired.

For hair modelling, there is now said to be the new Extrude Along Neighbors tool, with which modelling hair meshes is intended to proceed considerably faster. For better hairstyling, the new HairTo PolyStrips Modifier was added to make it easier to generate hair models well suited to games, while the HairStyle Uncomb Modifier is intended to add an extra portion of realism to the hair models.
