Project Dogwaffle is currently offering the low-budget drawing software Howler version 6 for just 10 dollars via the website http://www.sqirreldome.com. The predecessor program was still called Dogwaffle 5, and it is even available free of charge. Here is the download link.
Howler can be used to create digital drawings using standard brushes, so the drawing process closely resembles conventional painting with brush and canvas. With its drawing and animation functions, the tool is also intended to produce good results in the field of special effects.
The most recent version of Howler is release 8, which we have already reported on here.
According to Project Dogwaffle, Howler 6 runs on Windows 7 and 8; this release version does not yet include the features for camera stabilisation, rotoscoping and motion prediction for generating slow-motion effects. It is available here. Dogwaffle 5 runs on XP, Vista and Windows 7 and has not yet been tested on Windows 8. It is intended to provide natural painting, animation and everything expected from a graphics suite.
