Motion Boutique has released Newton 2. The 2D physics simulation software for After Effects is now intended to support spring and joint effects in addition to magnets. According to Motion Boutique, Newton 2 also has a new feature that allows layers to be linked with joints. Objects could therefore be connected quickly with the mouse instead of using keyframes. In addition, there is a new, user-friendly interface and support for text and shape layers. Scene snapshots are also now intended to be creatable with Newton 2.

For script-experienced users who write their Physics themselves, this plug-in is probably rather superfluous. But all other AE artists will be pleased with quick object-animation results with which they can experiment.

The Newton 2 plug-in is available for 249 dollars; there is also a volume discount when purchasing multiple licences. An upgrade costs 99 dollars and a free trial version can also be tested.

You can order Newton 2 here.
