Independent developers of games for the Android or iOS platforms will have reason to celebrate in future, as will very young companies: with the Unity update, the build options are available, effectively an extension of Unity Free, which launched in 2009. So: download and get started. According to CEO David Helgason, it is completely free of charge, but naturally does not apply to large companies.

Over the next few months, the company also plans to create a free develpment environment for BlackBerry 10 and Windows Phone 8 developers. Further information is available here.
