The German Advertising Film Award is being presented for the first time this year by the German Advertising Film Academy. For the first time in this form, because the predecessor event was the vdw Award. In memory of founding father Hatto Kurtenbach, however, the trophies, the "Hattos", have been retained.
Submissions are free of charge and are reviewed by independent expert juries. These determine the winners in nine categories:
Best Advertising Film, Direction, Script, Camera, Editing, Visual Effects, Art Department/Styling, Composition/Sound Design and Best Newcomer Advertising Film.
The submission deadline is February 16, 2014. The nominations will be announced on March 10.
The Hattos awards ceremony takes place On March 22, 2014 at "Kino International" in Berlin.
