Escape Motions—creator Peter Blaskovic’s experimental software playground—presents the new features of Flame Painter version 3.

The new Photoshop plug-in "Flame Painter Connect" runs in the background and is, so to speak, a communication channel between the Pro Edition and PS. From version 3 onward, you no longer have to save every time you need to exchange a layer between the applications. Another workflow improvement: You can open and save layered PSD files for Photoshop—with all their layer settings, blending modes and opacity. SVG vector files can now also be opened and saved—so you can export vector layers to Illustrator (or a similar program) and continue editing the Flame image there.

Newly available in the Personal and Pro Editions: 22 Photoshop blending modes.

Until the release of version 3, a 2.5.6 update (free for users of Flame Painter 2) was slipped in. Here is the download for Flame Painter Update 2.5.6.

Flame Painter costs US$29.99 in the Personal Edition, while the Pro version is available for US$59.99. Incidentally, DP tested Flame Painter in issue 3/12. The PDF of the article can be downloaded at the end of the news item. A demo version can also be found on Escape Motion.
