Powerful, inexpensive, and even flexible when required: organic photodiodes are a promising alternative to silicon-based photodetectors. They make cameras more light-sensitive or check displays for homogeneous color composition. Fraunhofer researchers develop such components according to customer-specific requirements. From June 3 to 5, Fraunhofer COMEDD is presenting a color sensor as a demonstrator at the Sensor + Test trade fair in Nuremberg (Hall 12, booth 12-537). The spectrum of applications ranges from tiny sensor elements in cameras or bioanalytics through to large-area applications in quality control. In high-quality cameras, the photodiodes can be used to increase sensitivity to light.
The following exhibits will also be on display at the Fraunhofer COMEDD booth: OLED microstructures, metal interference filtersand a bioreactor with OLED lighting.
