LookFX has existed since 1998 and had branches in New York, Los Angeles, Stuttgart and Vancouver. The studio’s portfolio includes feature films such as "Man of Steel", "The Grand Budapest Hotel", "Warm Bodies" and "Life of Pi". LookFX also worked on many TV shows, such as "Black Sails" and "Game of Thrones".
After LookFX had been fighting for financial survival for some time and in 2014 was still struggling with the legacy burden of the extremely VFX-intensive and expensive project "Noah", a project in New York failed to materialise, which dealt the fatal blow. LookFX President and Co-Founder Mark Driscoll gave this information to the platform Variety.
The money is still in advertising: the studio Mass Market operates in the commercial field, but now also wants to establish a foothold in the feature-film sector. This means the company can continue to employ a great many LookFX employees in this department. Conveniently, LookFX also directly brings projects on which they are currently working. LookFX Managing Directors Henrik Fett and Mark Driscoll will take over the management of this division. Mass Market has studios in Venice, California, New York and Vancouver.
