Brought to life in part by the myth of the high iron content in spinach, which arose from a decimal-point error in the measurements, the sailor Popeye was held up for decades as a shining example in the spinach battle between parents and children: back then still seen on television as a cartoon character, there is now the first animation test for the 3D Popeye cinema version.

In this, Olive is still just as annoying as she was back then, and Popeye rescues his fair maiden as usual – or at least tries to do so somewhat clumsily with too much strength. Genndy Tartakovsky is directing; it is still unclear when the film will open. So far, 2016 appears to be planned.
