Interim Update on the ZBrush 64-Bit Version

The release of ZBrush 4R7 in 32-bit and 64-bit versions was originally planned for the end of 2014. Pixologic has now announced, however, that the release will be delayed.

The 64-bit version is intended to be available for both Mac OSX and Windows. Since the 64-bit release means that Pixologic now has to test four tool versions instead of two, the release is being postponed to January for the time being. Pixologic wants to have more time for fine-tuning the sculpting tool.

Many ZBrush users can hardly wait for the release of the 64-bit version; one of them is Joe Grundfast. In the upcoming issue of DP, the artist will tell us which features he is especially looking forward to and how his 3D version of the "War Machine" from the "Iron Man" universe was created.
