Interactive and international: Benedikt Hummel and Marius Winter study "Interactive Media" at the "Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction" at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (see also DP issue 05/14, "Little Miss unperfect") and are currently on a developer journey through nine European countries and eleven different cities. This undertaking is taking place as part of Winter’s transmedia diploma project.
Along the way, they meet creative minds from the indie-games scene and conceive new game ideas with them. The tour, which most recently stopped in Nowy Tomysl (Poland), is taking place in cooperation with Arte Creative and can be followed through documentary films and published games on the Arte Creative page.
The first result of the collaboration with sound artist Dragica Kahlina in Zurich is a browser game called "Mayor Friday", which has been playable online since the weekend: The objective of the game is to build a new tower of containers for the mayor – trees, traffic signs, the mayor, and the other player’s character can also be transported and stacked.
In addition to Marius Winter and Benedikt Hummel, Benedikt Haas (Interactive Media), Jutta Schön (Television Journalism), Daniela Mayer and Yannick Paul Petzold (both Production), Martin "Lui" Ludwig (Camera), Iris Schwarz (Motion Design), as well as professionals from the independent scene such as Andreas Maluche (Editing) and Jan Roth (Music and Sound Design), are involved in the "Tour Bueno" project.
On January 26, the developer team will travel on to Berlin.
