A total of 69 films faced the judgment of the independent jury; five films were able to take the trophy home. At the same time, the winners can be pleased that the short films will be shown on Sunday, May 17 as part of the film festival in Cannes.
Afterwards, the works will be shown at festivals on an international tour organized by German Films – including Madrid, New York, Buenos Aires, Paris and Sidney. Selected cinemas in Germany will also show the films as supporting films. The Short Tiger winning films are also part of the Next Generation Short Tiger program, which aims to present new young film talent to the public.
"The Present" by Jacob Frey was nominated in the "Best Short Film" category. The project "Wrapped" by Roman Kälin, Falko Paeper and Florian Wittmann from the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg has already received a proper shower of awards: Last year, the team won the animago AWARD in the "Best Young Production" category and also picked up the VES AWARD in 2015.
