High-Profile Confirmations for FMX 2015

FMX opens its doors in exactly one week. More talks and well-known speakers have been confirmd: Avengers 2, Mark deLoura and BabyX will be there.

Visitor from the White House

For FMX’s 20th birthday, a visitor from the circle around the US president is expected: Mark deLoura is Senior Adviser for Digital Media at the White House. He will speak as part of the “Games for Change Europe” track, which focuses on serious games.

Virtual Production

The Virtual Production track can shine with a talk on the second part of Marvel’s successful “The Avengers” series. In addition, Ron Frankel (Proof), Duncan Burbidge (The Third Floor), Rob Bredow (Industrial Light & Magic), Al Lopez (Stargate Studios), Milke Sanders (Activision, Central Studios) and Brett Ineson (Animatrik Film Design Inc.) will discuss the projects “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Transformers: Age of Extinction” as part of their presentation on the most exciting innovations in virtual production.

BabyX

BabyX is a 3D-simulated baby that responds humanly to the person on the other side of the computer screen; it was developed by Associate Professor Mark Sagar (Laboratory Animate Technologies, Laboratory for Animate Technologies, Auckland Bioengineering Institute). At FMX, as part of the “Virtual Humans Forum”, Sagar presents the research of his laboratory, which deals with these and similar processes in which self-determined virtual humans are brought to life.
