Clo Virtual Fashion has added a new Direct Positioning Tool in this release for arranging patterns and .objs on the avatar and clothing. The display of UV Guidelines now enables interactive UV editing.

Furthermore, users can now create sewing patterns in 2D and give free rein to their tailoring creativity. Offset patterns and segments as internal lines help with specific measurement. Folds can now be arranged as desired before the clothing is simulated.

The Sewing Line Type Setting can be used to create a folded two-layer look, while Side Geometry can adjust the curvature of pattern edges. Two methods are available for measuring avatar length: The “Basic Length Measurement Methode” performs a straight measurement, while the “Surface Length Measurement Methode” implements a measurement along the avatar’s surface as a curve. The gizmo can now be coordinated in Select, Move or Rotate mode, and the camera can be imported in .fbx format.

Marvelous Designer will be released on September 15. Anyone who still buys version 4 now will receive a free update to version 5. The tool is compatible with Windows from version XP and Mac OS X from 10.7. A permanent licence costs 550 US dollars; monthly and annual subscription options are also available.
