You know Emojies? The little icons you send by chat when finding the right words is once again too exhausting. Sony Pictures Animation wants to spread the literally meaningless topic across the width of the screen.
Sony has never had a knack for films. Pixels would at most have made a passable short film for a chuckle (and won at the animago AWARD). But now an oversized Packman eats his way through a bad script at feature-film length. And because that already does not work, and the screeenwriters apparently are still on strike, there will soon be a film about smileys.
Anthony Leonidis, “known” for B.O.O.: Bureau Of Otherworldly Operations, is to direct and write the screenplay together with TV producer Eric Siegel (Men at Work and one-day wonder Traffic Light). So far, so boring.
We are excited. NOT.
