The Corvid HEVC Encoder can compress 4K/UHD/HD video to H.265/HEVC in real time. The PCIe 2.0 card uses 8 PCI lanes and can encode one 4K/UHD stream at up to 60 fps or up to 4 HD streams at 60 fps to HEVC (Main and Main 10) 4:2:0/4:2:2 with 8 and 10 bit. The card has four 3G-SDI inputs (with 16 embedded audio channels per stream) as well as 1 x LTCLTC input. Instead of streams, up to four videos present as files can also be encoded to HEVC simultaneously.
AJA presented the new version of the AJA System Test Tool. It can be used to determine the speed of various drives and PCIe interfaces – either simply as data-writing speed or translated into frames from various cameras/data types, as desired. The new AJA FS3 4K upconverter converts HD and SD signals to 4K (at a maximum of 60 fps). The resulting 4K/UHD video can be output via multiple BNC/fibre-optic outputs. The box physically occupies only one RU in the server rack.
AJA is also showing several new mini-converters:
- HB-T-SDI and HB-R-SDI transmit 3G-SDI signals via Ethernet.
- ROI-HDMI converts video input, including scaling of image areas, via HDMI to SD-SDI and analogue component/composite.
- HD10MD4 converts HD-SDI video to SD-SDI and analogue component/composite.
Price and availability of the AJA Corvid have not yet been announced. The FS3 4K upconverter will be available on the market from October for around 3,000 US dollars.
