The camera records 4K QFHD (3,840 x 2,160) at 100 Mbit/sMbit/s in XAVC long GoP compression (8-bit colour depth) at a maximum of 30 fps. In 8-second bursts, it also delivers up to 240 FPS in 10bit 4:2:2 Full HD for extreme slow motion, without sensor crop. Normal Full HD is recorded at frame rates between 23.98p and 59.94p/i at a maximum of 50 MBit/s. The Super35 Exmor CMOS sensor with 11.6 million pixels (8.3 million effective) is said to deliver a dynamic range of 14 stops. Base ISO is 3200. Electronic ND filters can be switched on from 1/4 to 1/128. S-LOG2 and S-LOG3 are implemented. Raw recording is expected to be possible with a later firmware update.
The PXW-FS5 is expected to come onto the market in November 2015. The price for the camera without lenses is 6,699 USD.
