AFANASY is part of the CGRU project and is a free open-source render-farm manager that can connect and control multiple computers to render complex tasks. In the past, render farms were used primarily for 3D animation; today they are increasingly also used in compositing.
To connect such render farms, all you need are a few PCs with GPUs and GBit network adapters. This makes it possible to realize serious power in the basement at home, even with a small budget and a free render-farm manager.
And good news for Natron users: the professional compositing program is now also natively supported by CGRU/AFANASY.
