The most important features of version 1.7 are the ability to assign a different shader to each texture set, create your own project templates, and various painting improvements such as optimized precision thanks to the brush-engine update, as well as various new shaders, filters and mask generators.
Update 1.7.1 brings, among other things, simultaneous calculation of layer content and the associated thumbnails, new fill methods (subtract and add/sub), and a “wrap” brush behavior for painting.
The Indie liecnse for Substance Painter is available for 149 US dollars; the Pro license costs 590 US dollars. The tool is available for Windows and Mac OS X. A trial version with no feature restrictions can also be downloaded for 30 days.
